Participate in CAC’s 2024 Strategic Planning 

This month' s CAC's GreenSheet included a plannig survey link. Take advantage of this opportunity to let CAC know what you would like them to prioritize for 2024 and beyond. Click here to complete the planning survey, prior to their June strategic planning meeting.

  • AGC is focused on the following issues: Separate in-store displays and segregation of California fruit; Support of Direct sales through the AGC; True grower representation on CAC and HAB Boards; Store promotions and events emphasizing local, ethically sourced, and sustainable; limiting new imports and fairly curtailing import volumes through legislative interactions; Endorsing 8 US Senators February request to USDA, USTR, and State Dept. to add a requirement to USDA's current Mexican orchard certifications work plans to exclude any orchards that are on illegally deforested land.

This is a busy month along with your farming and picking schedules, however, your participation in any and all of these events is encouraged and appreciated.

April 11th - California Avocado Society and Company - Avocado Fertilizer Seminar

April 15th - HAB Online Voter Registration Deadline

You must REGISTER TO VOTE NOW in HAB’s online May election for two producer director seats. After HAB ballots are emailed on April 22nd, we will let you know AGC’s preferred candidates. We have AGC members running so please register to vote.

April 15th and 16th - CAC’s Annual Grower Meetings

Your participation is important to demonstrate a strong Grower presence and engagement - YOUR PRESENCE CAN’T BE OVERSTATED. “…learn more about the 2024 marketing campaign and gain insight into the grower-focused priorities of the Production Research and Industry Affairs teams.” Reach out to your respective CAC district representatives to let them know of any specific items or concerns you would like CAC to address at these meetings. April 20th   - AGC’s May General Election Nomination Deadline

For the first year after AGC Inc. incorporation in 2023, a special election will be held on May 30, 2024, for all five board seats. The five elected members will serve until the next annual general election held on February 27, 2025. Click to access AGC 2024 Election Process & Nomination Docs .

As an AGC board member you will be involved in all aspects of developing the organization and its priorities. Since this is a startup organization if elected Chairperson or President, you may spend up to 20-40 hours a week on AGC business.

Any AGC Grower member in good standing can vote and run for AGC Inc.’s open Board seats. You are a Grower member, in good standing, if you have paid your annual dues, and if you exclusively farm or pack California avocados. If you want to support AGC’s cause as a non- voting member, you can pay what you can, and become an Associate Member. Check with your financial person to see if your dues are deductible.

Help us meet our membership goal by becoming an AGC dues-paying member, and by helping us recruit as many growers, partners, associates, you know to join in our mission. You don't have to be a grower to join. You can join as an Associate member and pay-what-you-can!

Note: If you are an Incorporating member who previously donated to AGC, you do not have to pay an initiation fee.
